Hey guys, it's Erica! I'm so sorry for not updating a whole lot! This summer has just flown by and I really didn't get around to blogging at all last month!

So I haven't really been up to a whole lot, band camp and show choir camp came and passed, and show choir is gonna be awesome this year! I can't wait to compete and show that we can do amazing things for being the size of a school and show choir that we are. I love it! The dresses are gonna be so fierce - a floor-length one-shoulder ball gown that's pink and sparkly, while the guys are wearing a suit with blue pinstripes and pink paisley ties (better than they sound, I hope!) and then our second outfit is a royal blue one-sleeve number that has a scoop skirt - I'll post pictures AS SOON as I get the outfits! Buttt it won't be for a while. :P

Band on the other hand is going to get on my nerves real fast. Instead of our director doing band camp, his son did everything, including dehydrate us and make us do push ups for stupid stuff - like not getting set in our previous sets (those pretty pictures that form on the field while bands are marching? those are sets to us ;) ) in 10 seconds when half of us have to run across the field. If band is like this next year, I'm seriously considering quitting with a few other girls. We haven't taken our second semester of gym yet, and we have to take it to graduate. So if it becomes a choice of quitting band and doing gym or doing summer gym, i'm quitting band fersure. This year was too intense for camp and no one - which is saying a LOT for the people in our band- deserves to be treated the way they were. akdfbhja;dklfhbak;dfjkl

Over this past weekend, I went to see Mary Poppins in Cleveland, and it was absolutely amazing! I hate to admit it, but I went in with somewhat low expectations, but it ended up being great! The kids who played Jane and Michael were astounding for such a big role that they had. The one boy was 13 and the girl I'm guessing was right around there - it didn't say in the playbill - and they had VOICES. And the girl who played Mary Poppins - who I might also add, originated the part of Belle in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway - sounded EXACTLY like Julie Andrews. I was absolutely blown away! The only thing that disappointed me was that we could see the wires they used for the special effects. Which, granted, they can only do so much with such bright lighting and wires that need to hold around 150 pounds of a person + those crazy costumes, but it was just kind of disappointed about that. But they had other great effects that made up for it :P 9.8/10!

Other than that, nothing is really new! Hopefully come this weekend I'll have some exciting news for you guys, but you'll just have to wait. & no, it's nothing with the site - it's something personal - but I might put up a new layout soon just for you! :)

Hopefully Bella will blog soon!

Listening: Here We Go Again - Demi Lovato

Hey everyone, it's Erica. I fixed the problem with the commenting - granted, I had to delete all of FanUpdate and start over fresh - but it's fixed, so that's all that matters!

I really haven't been up to anything super exciting. My summer has been pretty low-key for the most part. I have been driving like crazy to get my license before show choir and band camp, but unfortunately that won't happen. :/ I've still got to drive with an instructor (well, not one - the lady told my mom I'd be with all the instructors because of the times I've got) and get more hours in, but I think my goal is to get my license by school now. I've got more than a month, so I think I'll take care of it in plenty of time.

Also, I have some exciting news that even Bella doesn't know! I've been visiting a site for a very long time, and I've grown into a huge fan. Recently, they put up an application for to send in to become part of the staff. So, as I usually do when I'm a fan of such a site, I filled out and sent in the application. I really wasn't expecting anything, I usually don't get "jobs" when I apply for a site, so it was just a shot in the dark.

My mom, sister and I decided to go to an indoor waterpark randomly to get out of the house for a night, so I was gone for the night that I assumed the new staff would hear from the owner. When I got a chance to be on the computer again once we got home, I checked my e-mail with little hope of anything, and there was nothing in my inbox. I told myself, "Check the junk mail, you never know." I had quite a few pieces of junk mail, so I went through and checked all of them off to be deleted, but I read through the subjects just to make sure.

I saw a forward, and usually junk mail doesn't have a forward in the subject, so I looked at the name, and it was the owner of the site, Leila. (which is a name I've always loved, even before finding her site, in case you were wondering. :P ) So I opened it up, figuring it was one of those emails - "Thanks, but no thanks, maybe next time," etc. - but it wasn't. I read the line that was at the top of the email:

"Welcome to SelenaStyle :)
this is the logins you'll need, the style guide coding and thumb linking tutorials
I'm very happy to have you guys on board and can't wait to see your first updates!"

I literally FREAKED out. I was incredibly happy! I immediately posted my first blog saying who I was and congratulating the other new girl on staff, Jenny.

So, here I am, a new contributor to Selena Style and I'm ecstatic!

I will continue to work on Glam with Bella, but I will also be working on Selena Style from now on. I love working on both sites, and I'll try to distribute my time evenly between both sites.

That's pretty much it for now,
